Having lost the fight over marriage equality, right-wing groups are now pushing dangerous so-called religious exemption bills in state legislatures throughout the country.
These bills have nothing to do with religious freedom. They are a direct assault on civil rights and on a basic American value: the separation of church and state.
If enacted, these laws would allow business owners to discriminate against women and LGBT people with impunity whether in employment, housing or public accommodations.
