SIGN NOW: Tell Biden to reject LNG

President Biden and his Department of Energy

A long awaited study from the Department of Energy has finally been released, and it confirms what we already know to be true: exports of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) harm our climate, communities, and consumers. The obvious thing for Biden to do with this report is to heed the advice his Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm, that "Unfettered" LNG exports are "neither sustainable nor advisable."

Unfortunately, DOE delayed the report by several weeks, which means the 60 day comment period will extend into President Trump's second term. But Biden doesn't technically have to wait for the end of the comment period to reject existing permit applications. He can, right now, reject the applications for at least six new LNG export facilities that have been waiting on this report just like we have: Commonwealth LNG, Port Arthur LNG Phase II, Lake Charles LNG, Magnolia LNG, Saguaro II, and including CP2 LNG. But we suspect that to get Biden and his DOE to actually reject fossil fuel projects, and not just talk about it, we're going to need to take action.

So sign here to tell Biden and his DOE to deny all new LNG export permits now, and pledge to join us in January to show him why it matters.

A US Department of Energy report this month conclusively found that exports of Liquefied natural Gas (LNG) harm our climate, communities, and US economy. Secretary Granholm herself went so far as to say that "unfettered" LNG exports are "neither sustainable nor advisable."

Based on this new study, you must act swiftly to deny all pending permits for new LNG export facilities - including Commonwealth LNG, Port Arthur LNG Phase II, Lake Charles LNG, Magnolia LNG, Saguaro II, and CP2 LNG Cameron Parish.

By signing this petition I both encourage the Biden Administration to act, and pledge to take non violent direct action myself to encourage them to do so, before the President leaves office on January 20, 2025.
