The COVID-19 pandemic is still raging across America, endangering essential workers and killing seniors. One of the best tools for reducing its spread is widespread face mask use. But Donald Trump and his administration have turned this into another culture war issue.

This isn’t culture―it’s science. Re-opening economies, especially ahead of the July 4th holiday, is likely to spread COVID-19 even more rapidly. We’re calling on state and local governments to enact rules to make mask-wearing mandatory when engaging in commerce.
