The Motion Picture Industry is broken.
We need fundamental change toward conscientious, safe and sustainable sets NOW.
The daily occurrence and history of an industry addicted to long working hours (14-18 hour days) is endured by the laborers and film-makers who prop up this Industry (who ARE this Industry).
This culture of abusive hours must end. Safety, rest, and sleep are not negotiable. Crew & Set safety is everyone’s concern, and our end product is a collective success.
Every time a person speaks up about a problem, we all get the chance to improve and make a better workplace for everyone. No worker should be afraid to speak up; everyone deserves a safe and healthy work environment. The entertainment industry is fully capable of providing that to its film-makers and IATSE crew.
Improve the quality of life for workers.
Improve the quality of content we put our heart and soul into.
We invite the Industry & Community to take an honest look at the fundamental changes needed to make film-making safe & sustainable for everyone.
We are all connected. Work with us to create fundamental change.
Any other coalitions, or industries, or organizations that seek solutions to issues common with our own, let us know how we can work together to create fundamental change.
We thank the IATSE members and larger community of Advocates. It has been an overwhelmingly positive response. We are humbled and invigorated.
This is a true grassroots groundswell built on Member-to-Member conversations and Member-to-Advocate support! We see you. We hear you. We are you.
Stand together for Industry accountability toward a more conscientious, safe, and sustainable film-making culture.
Change Now. Change Together.
