For many American workers, Trump’s government shutdown meant not knowing when the next paycheck will come.  

This reality is especially devastating for low-wage federal contractors who do important jobs for our country. From cooking for soldiers at the Pentagon to guiding tourists through our National Parks, these workers earn so little that they struggle to survive -- even when they are getting paid.  

Under President Trump, there are more than 4.5 million federal contract workers who make less than $15 an hour. Now, because of Trump’s reckless actions, many of these workers have gone from LOW pay to NO pay during the government shutdown.

Low-wage federal contract workers are the hidden victims of Trump’s power play. These are people who won’t be able to pay for basic needs -- such as rent and food. And, worst of all, these workers are currently unable to receive back pay.
