Just a few days after Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf warned residents of an impending ICE raid, the Trump administration announced their lawsuit against California over pro-immigrant legislation.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the rest of the anti-immigrant, racist Trump administration filed a lawsuit on Tuesday that targets three state laws that resist federal deportation efforts and establishes California as a “sanctuary state.”

Some are calling this lawsuit a stunt, but it’s much more than that. This is just the next step in the Trump administration’s continual attack on undocumented immigrants—and, as usual, Jeff Sessions is at the helm.

This is a manipulative power move, designed to terrorize immigrants and intimidate states and cities that pass legislation to resist Trump’s mass deportation force. We won’t stand for it.
