In 2015, Daniel Hale showed us massive abuse of power from within the Pentagon’s deadly drone program. His work exposed things like kill lists, extrajudicial assassinations, as well as the designations of innocent casualties as ‘enemy combatants’, all by the US government.

Prosecuted under the Espionage Act, Hale is currently facing a prison sentence of 50 years. His defense is also extremely limited in their capacity to make the case that he acted in public interest with his lawyers being barred from using terms such as “whistleblower” or “good motive” in court.

Daniel Hale is a hero who exposed information that the American public, and world, have a right to know. His actions lead to a safer, more just world, and his bravery should be celebrated, not punished.
