FCC Chair Ajit Pai

The ultra-conservative Sinclair media company already owns 193 television stations around the country, and reaches 40% of households. And it's hoping to get even bigger with a proposed merger at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

They probably already have FCC Chair Ajit Pai's vote. Sinclair lobbyists have been meeting with Pai for months, and Pai is now under investigation by the FCC's inspector general for improper collusion and conflicts-of-interest.

Sinclair has a clear political agenda in acquiring more TV stations, and they clearly have no qualms about violating ethics rules to get there. Chairman Pai must do the right thing, and recuse himself under all pending FCC matters relating to the Sinclair merger.

It has become clear that you have had improper contact with Sinclair lobbyists to the point that your vote at the FCC is suspect. Please recuse yourself on all matters relating to Sinclair media's merger.

Sinclair Broadcasting is trying to buy Tribune Media. Along with the already too numerous local television stations they run, this would allow the very transparently right wing propaganda company a control approaching that of a monopoly.
