Sign the petition: Honor Jimmy Carter with automatic voter registration

Congress

In 1976, Presidential hopeful Jimmy Carter proposed "universal voter registration" which would automatically register every United States citizen to vote when they turned 18 years old.

Nearly 40 years later, the United States still struggles with some of the lowest voter turnout in the world, in large part because the registration laws in the U.S. are among the world's most demanding.

Oregon recently passed a hugely popular automatic voter registration law that may end up registering 300,000 new voters. Let's take this effort nationwide.

Sign the petition: Honor Jimmy Carter by supporting automatic voter registration at the national level.
