While Donald Trump puts families in cages as part of his zero-tolerance policy, the Trump administration is pushing another effort to merge the Departments of Education & Labor.

This is all part of a Republican effort to more effectively hurt poor people by merging various safety net programs into one, so it would be easier to pick them off & defund them later.

The Department of Labor & Department of Education both serve hugely important roles, and serve very different constituencies. It serves no real purpose to merge them together.
