Sign the petition: Reverse the Supreme Court’s damage that put corporations over workers

Congress

On May 21, the Supreme Court of the United States issued a 5-4 decision to allow businesses to deprive workers of the right to sue collectively.

The Epic Systems v. Lewis ruling means that workers will no longer be able to challenge violations of federal labor laws outside of an individual basis, essentially eliminating federal class action suits that help strengthen workers’ cases against unethical employers. (For the nitty gritty details, check out this Daily Kos article.)

Once again, conservatives in power have put businesses and corporations over workers and their rights.

In her scathing 30-page dissent, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg called the ruling “egregiously wrong” and added that “Congressional correction … is urgently in order.”

It’s clear that the majority of this Supreme Court does not value workers’ rights as highly as corporations. Justice Ginsburg is right: it’s time for Congress to act, and act swiftly.

Sign now if you agree that Congress must correct the Supreme Court’s decision to place corporations over workers yet again.

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of corporations rather than workers’ rights, so it’s time for you to take action. Please pass legislation protecting workers’ rights to collectively sue their employers.
