SIGN ON: Urge Sen. Kelly & Sen. Sinema to support Dreamers

Senate

For decades Representatives, Senators, & Presidents have promised to provide certainty to Dreamers and undocumented youth, yet year after year Congress plays politics and fails to create a permanent solution for Dreamers. It is morally imperative for Congress to pass a permanent solution for Dreamers that includes a pathway to citizenship, it should not hold Dreamers hostage for exterior motives or other agendas.

In Arizona, Dreamers have first hand experience of the imminent threat to deportations, the barriers to higher education, and the fear of living in a state that has been the epicenter of anti-immigrant laws and policies. Despite the challenges Arizona Dreamers have faced, they are now an inspiration of hope and resilience to our nation. Dreamers have shifted minds and hearts, 9 in 10 Arizona voters support a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers across party lines, including close to 75% of Arizona Republicans.

Currently, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is in limbo as US Judge Andrew Hanen hears the constitutionality of the program, even though over 100 constitutional law professors agree that the DACA program is constitutional. The DACA program has brought its recipients security, the ability to pursue higher education, a driver's license, purchase a home, start a business, and pursue professional opportunities that otherwise would have not been possible. A CBS National poll showed that more than 85% of Americans support Dreamers in the country.

The Coalition for the American Dream send over a letter to Congress asking for immediate action for Dreamers with more than 100 businesses, trade associations and policy organizations, including Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, Google, Intel, Accenture, Square, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers, FWD.us, NAFSA, the National Immigration Forum among others.

Now it is in Congress’ hands to deliver a permanent solution for the 2.1 million Dreamers living in the U.S. Join us in urging Congress to provide a pathway to citizenship for dreamers before they become subject to deportation.

The Senate must work across the aisle to find a common sense solution for our Dreamers and pass a piece of legislation that will provide Dreamers a pathway to citizenship. The DACA program has brought its recipients security, the ability to pursue higher education, a driver's license, purchase a home, start a business, and pursue professional opportunities that otherwise would have not been possible.
