More Mainers need to see a dentist! Support Dental Care in MaineCare.

Governor Janet Mills

Dental Care IS Health Care!

Mainers have said time after time: they want more affordable health care, not less! But Mainers who have Medicaid (MaineCare) have only limited emergency dental care—making people suffer unnecessary pain, health risks, and avoidable tooth loss.

A lack of access to dental care hurts Mainers and our whole health system. When Mainers can’t afford to visit a dentist for regular care, they end up with bigger health problems or needing emergency treatment. Untreated dental problems show up as painful and expensive emergency room visits, and contribute to costly long-term health issues like heart disease, infection, and cancer.

Many Mainers report hiding their smiles because of the condition of their teeth. They’re having a hard time at job interviews and holding their heads high in their communities.

Let Governor Mills know: Dental Care is a Human Right!

Investing in Maine adults’ oral health will improve the lives of thousands of Mainers.

Maine is one of only 13 states that has no adult dental benefit in Medicaid, except for limited emergency care. Maine is being left behind. Dental care IS health care! Please help Mainers get the health that they deserve.

The 2020 legislative session is coming up in just a few short weeks. YOUR support will make a difference!

Your signature lets Governor Mills know that you want more Mainers who can’t afford a simple trip to the dentist to get the preventive care and treatment they need!

We need 500 Mainers to stand up NOW to say they believe that dental care IS health care. Gov. Mills is a strong supporter of health care for all Mainers. Tell her: MaineCare needs full dental benefits!

Dear Governor Mills,

Too many Mainers can’t afford to see a dentist and it’s hurting our whole health care system. Untreated dental problems show up as painful and expensive emergency room visits, and contribute to costly long-term health issues like heart disease, infection, and cancer. Many Mainers report hiding their smiles because of the condition of their teeth — they’re having a hard time at job interviews and holding their heads high in their communities. We thank you for your commitment to affordable health care for all and ask you to support a full dental benefit for MaineCare that includes prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Dental care is health care! We know that you share our belief that health care is a human right.

Please help get Mainers the health that we all deserve.

Thank you.
