As so many members have articulated, gutting staff will harm DSA. But at a meeting on March 11th, the National Political Committee voted in favor of mass layoffs that would result in 40% of DSA’s staff being let go! Laying off a third of staff is not the solution to the budget crisis, neither is cutting the union in half—fair cuts, growing DSA, and fundraising are.

This NPC has a responsibility to protect union jobs while committing to a plan of action to fundraise and make DSA bigger, not smaller, to solve our budget crisis.
