TELL SUNAK TO STOP ARMING ISRAEL

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak

Last year, I presented a Bill to Parliament that would suspend arms sales to Israel.

The Bill would suspend arms sales to any country that might use them in violation of international law, as I explain here.

Rishi Sunak and the Tories won’t want the Bill to pass – and they can block it if they want to.

So we need to build-up the pressure, which is why I need your support.

Add your name to this petition calling on Rishi Sunak to back my Bill and to stop arming war crimes.

Dear Rishi Sunak,

I urge you to back Zarah Sultana MP’s Bill to Stop Arming War Crimes.

As Israel’s brutal assault on Gaza continues, the British government must urgently end its complicity in this genocidal attack.

But instead of supporting calls for an immediate ceasefire, this Tory government is providing diplomatic cover for Israel and continues to sell it arms.

Since 2015, the UK government has licensed arms sales to Israel worth more than £474 million, including parts for the F-35 fighter jet – the world’s “most lethal” aircraft – that are currently unleashing hell on Gaza.[1][2]

This deplorable complicity must end.

The government must stop arms sales to any country where there is a risk that they will be used in violation of international law, which undoubtedly includes Israel. It also includes the likes of Saudi Arabia, which has committed horrendous war crimes in Yemen.

In December 2023, Zarah Sultana, the Labour MP for Coventry South, introduced the Arms Trade (Inquiry and Suspension) Bill to Parliament that would do just this.

I urge you to support the Bill and to stop arming war crimes.

Your sincerely,
