We, the undersigned public employees and community supporters, call on the State Treasurer, SHP Board and the General Assembly to do everything in your power to not increase prices or reduce services provided by the State Health Plan. State employees already suffer from low wages and record vacancy rates. Any increase in prices and reductions will further push away talented public servants and impact the quality of services we provide to the public. The economy of our state is doing well, and the state has plenty of revenue to cover the budget shortfalls. Specifically, we call on you to:
- Not increase premiums or deductibles paid by employees,
- Not privatize retiree healthcare with Medicare Advantage,
- Not eliminate tobacco credit,
- Not reduce or limit the procedures covered by SHP,
- Increase transparency in pricing, and
- Require corporations and the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes.
