Stop Proposed State-Sponsored Discrimination in Our Schools
State Board of Education

The State Board of Education is considering the "Resolution to Oppose the Proposed Changes to Title IX and to Affirm Parental Rights and Local Control of Ohio K-12 Education", which promotes dangerous discrimination against LGBTQ+ students and rejects Title IX federal protections.
The resolution targets transgender and gender-diverse kids, saying they don't deserve the same Title IX anti-discrimination protections as their cisgender peers and perpetuates dangerous falsehoods about LGBTQ+ people.
Hundreds of concerned Ohioans have spoken out at the State Board to protest this state-sanctioned bullying against our kids. Sign today to protect the rights of ALL Ohio children.

In response to the politically-fueled attacks on Ohio students, families, and educators, we, the undersigned Ohio families, condemn any versions of the proposed "Resolution to Oppose the Proposed Changes to Title IX and to
Affirm Parental Rights and Local Control of Ohio K-12 Education", and demand the State Board of Education protect the rights of all students and families to attend safe, affirming public schools that nurture, not endanger, children.
We believe that every student deserves an honest, high-quality public school education grounded in truth, facts, and diverse perspectives, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or background.
We believe that education must affirm and reflect all identities, cultures, and experiences, and be free of discrimination, bigotry, and harassment.
We believe that state leaders should protect the rights and privacy of all students and families to work with their doctors and trained professionals to make affirming decisions about the health and well-being of the student.
We believe that students benefit most when families partner with schools to prioritize the safety and development of all children, and those locally controlled relationships should not be diluted with government overreach.
We condemn State Board members' continued attacks on Ohio’s children, most recently the resolution endorsing state-sanctioned discrimination and hate against LGBTQ+ students.
We condemn the reckless abuse of power in the resolution that instructs school districts to violate federal anti-discrimination laws and privacy protections.
We condemn the transphobia, homophobia, and “othering” of diverse families in the resolution, and strongly question the ability of Board members who endorse this proposal to lead effectively in an office that serves children.
We demand the State Board reject this hateful resolution and disavow the hateful values embedded within.
