Stop Trade Attacks on Climate Action

Trade Negotiators

Officials from the United States, European Union, and other nations are meeting soon for trade negotiations, as well as G7 talks, that could have a major impact on the future of climate policy at home and around the world.

Please join us in urging negotiators to adopt a “Climate Peace Clause” that ends trade attacks on clean energy initiatives and other climate policies. We will deliver thousands of comments from people like you while there is still time to make a difference.

Please work with other governments to secure a “Climate Peace Clause” in the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC), the G7, the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF), and other trade talks and international negotiating venues.

Outdated trade rules are increasingly being used to attack clean energy initiatives and other climate policies in the United States and worldwide. These trade challenges undermine ambitious climate action and a livable future.

You can end costly and time-consuming attacks on climate progress by proposing and adopting a Climate Peace Clause under which signatories agree not to use the dispute resolution mechanisms of trade and investment pacts to challenge each others’ clean energy and climate measures.
