We urge you to stand with Colombian peacebuilders, by backing the Colombian-led Defend the Peace movement, increasing international diplomatic pressure to protect the Colombian peace process, and committing to protect Colombian peacebuilders and human rights defenders.

After more than 50 years of armed conflict in Colombia, a historic peace deal​ was signed in 2016 marking a formal end to the conflict. Right now, however, the peace deal is under threat as key parties to the agreement are reversing their commitments.

Colombian peacebuilders and human rights defenders are leading a campaign to defend the peace​. They are working to collect 1 million signatures in Colombia to safeguard critical elements of the peace accord - and they seek international support.

Colombia's brutal armed conflict killed more than 220,000 people​, displaced over 7 million, and created over half a million refugees.​ The Colombian people do not want to return to violence.

The United Nations and international diplomatic community has dedicated years to help Colombians win the peace agreement. As crises escalate in Venezuela and the Northern Triangle, regression on peace in Colombia poses even more of a critical threat.​

We urge you​ and the international community to support​ Colombian peacebuilders and help them save their peace deal.​
