Support Hamilton County Public Defenders Request Union Voluntary Recognition
Raymond T. Faller
We are the Hamilton County Public Defender Collective. We are the defenders who tirelessly fight every day for our clients inside and outside of court. We are there when they have no one else to turn to, demanding that their rights be upheld and their humanity be honored. We do this job because our clients are worth it. We are unionizing because we are worth it.
We envision a future in which we have an even greater impact on our community. Our shared hope for this future is what drives our unionization efforts, and we hope this office can see the positive change it can bring.
This future requires predictable raises, transparent performance expectations and promotion requirements, improved and continuing training, disciplinary due process, and democratic decision-making regarding the needs and priorities of our attorneys and clients. We recognize the value of collaboration and are committed to working constructively with management to achieve our shared goals.
Today our organizing committee submitted a letter to voluntarily recognize our union with AFSCME Ohio Council 8. The Hamilton County Public Defender Collective, ask that you join us in our fight for the future of our clients and this Office. Please send a letter to our Chief Public Defender Raymond T. Faller in support of our union and organizing effort and ask that he voluntarily recognize our union.
