We count on thousands of homecare workers across Minnesota to take care of our loved ones. In 2015, the Obama administration did the right thing and took care of them.

The Department of Labor enacted a rule entitling homecare workers to all basic protections on the job, including overtime pay. But homecare companies keep looking to skirt the rule by cutting workers’ hours, and our state is suffering through a severe shortage of qualified attendants.

Our Legislature can end this shortage. Gov. Mark Dayton has asked for $58 million to fund overtime pay costs through 2019.
