Support Pope Francis

Bishop Loverde, Catholic Diocese of Arlington, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova

We are Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions (FACS) a Northern Virginia-based group of Baptists, Episcopals, Evangelicals, Hindus, Lutherans, Methodists, Muslims, Jews, Presbyterians, Unitarians, members of the Church of Christ, Unity Church, and other faith traditions who believe that addressing climate change is an urgent spiritual and moral responsibility to protect generations to come.

We were listening closely as Pope Francis spoke from Rome, issuing the first papal encyclical on the environment. Here's a link to the full encyclical

But this  is not just a matter for Catholics. It concerns all people of faith and those who have no religion at all. It's time to take action together

Speaking in his role as a pastor and moral authority, Pope Francis’s message to the world is clear: responding to climate change is a moral issue, demanding our urgent response, and responsible behavior for our home.

Many people of faith have not yet embraced the issue of climate change, and the urgent need to address it, despite the overwhelming scientific consensus of the danger before us.

We ask all people of faith to join our moral campaign to move Virginia forward. Sign our petition now

Speaking in his role as a pastor and moral authority, Pope Francis’s message to the world is clear: responding to climate change is a moral issue, demanding our urgent response, and responsible behavior for our home.

Many Catholics have not yet embraced the increasing danger of climate change seriously, and the need to seriously address it, despite the overwhelming scientific consensus of the danger before us.

We ask you to join our moral campaign to move Virginia forward and to lead.
