Support Secure Savings
Colorado State Legislators

Almost seven out 10 small business employees in Colorado don’t have a retirement savings plan at work, mostly because small businesses can’t afford to provide retirement packages on their own. Taxpayers are going to have to brace for a huge increase in public assistance for older adults if we don’t get serious.

I am a business owner and am asking you to support SB19-173 Colorado Secure Savings Plan Board. This bill creates a Board of Trustees to develop a plan for a public-private partnership that would offer a low-fee IRA retirement savings plan through automatic enrollment payroll deduction to private-sector employees without access to workplace plans.
Business owners understand that secure retirement is important – not only do retirement plans help attract talented workers but also every Coloradan should be able to live independently after retiring. The Colorado Secure Savings Plan will allow workers to save for their own retirement without public assistance by creating a public-private partnership plan for a low-fee IRA while letting small businesses compete with large corporations for employees.
