As you know, we are at the beginning of a difficult fight to win a strong contract. We are asking every single member to sign this petition in support of our bargaining committee and the goals we want to achieve with this contract. It is critical that we show a strong show of unity so that we can win a good contract this year, and that all starts with this petition. We, the undersigned members of Health Professionals and Allied Employees Local 5142, stand united in support of our Local Bargaining Committee. As nurses, we are on the front lines of the worst public health crisis in several lifetimes, and we deserve the same resources and compensation as the nurses fighting this fight in other local hospitals.
As such, we are demanding 1) Stronger safe staffing and health and safety language so that we can provide the highest quality of care to our patients, 2) Wages and benefits that are competitive locally and fair across our bargaining unit, and 3) Better scheduling practices that are consistent with other local hospitals.
We stand behind our committee, and are willing to do whatever it takes to win these demands, both for us and for our patients.
