Support the Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act

Congress

When all public workers can join our union and negotiate fairly, our voice becomes stronger. That is why I support the Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, public workers have shown up on the front lines providing essential services to our communities. Yet our basic rights as essential workers vary from state to state. In roughly half of the country, we do not have the ability to bargain over our wages, benefits and working conditions.

The Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act gives dedicated public employees in every state the freedom to:

  • Join together in a union;

  • Collectively bargain over wages, hours, and terms and conditions of our employment;

  • Access dispute resolution mechanisms (such as mediation or arbitration);

  • Use voluntary payroll deduction for our union dues;

  • Engage in other concerted activities related to collective bargaining and mutual aid;

  • Not have our unions be subject to rigged recertification election;

  • Sue in court to enforce our labor rights.

Take a moment to sign this petition in support of this critical piece of workers' rights legislation.
