Support UMass Lowell Adjunct Faculty!

UMass President Marty Meehan and UML Chancellor Jacqueline Moloney

UMass-Lowell is the second largest school in the University of Massachusetts system, and is nationally recognized for closing achievement gaps for underrepresented students and its commitment to diversity.

Its adjunct faculty, who make up 61% of the faculty at UML, are absolutely crucial to its success in educating the student body. Despite this, UML adjuncts are paid 32% less than adjunct faculty at other UMass campuses, and receive no benefits or health insurance.

UML adjunct faculty have been fighting for a fair contract for 2 years, and its time they get one! Help us stand with the UMass-Lowell Adjunct Faculty and tell the University of Massachusetts administration that adjunct faculty deserve a fair and just contract!

UMass Lowell's adjunct faculty provide a first-class education for their students, but they are still being treated like second-class citizens, receiving lower pay than other adjuncts in the UMass system and no benefits or health care. They deserve a contract that brings them to parity with their peers, but for over 2 years, administrators have refused to provide a fair offer.

The UMass system educates the working class of Massachusetts, and we all have a stake in making sure that students and teachers in the system are treated with the respect they deserve. We, the undersigned students, teachers, and allies stand in solidarity with the UMass Lowell adjunct faculty in their fight for a fair contract. We call on UMass administrators to negotiate with these dedicated educators and address the inequality UMass adjunct faculty have to face every day!
