Support Unionized Workers at Disney/20th TV Animation!

Disney/20th TV Animation: It's time to FastPass negotiations with crews on “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” "Solar Opposites" and “American Dad!”

We are more than 100 receptionists, IT technicians, assistants, supervisors, coordinators and managers working on four of the most popular animated programs today: “The Simpsons,” "Family Guy," “American Dad!” and “Solar Opposites.”

On May 27, 2022, the workers on "The Simpsons,” "Family Guy," and “American Dad!" notified 20th TV Animation, owned by Disney, of our unionizing with The Animation Guild, IATSE Local 839 (TAG). The studio recognized us on July 1, 2022. We’ve now waited a year for Disney/20th TVA to find the time to come to the table and negotiate with us.

Each day that passes is a loss in income, affordable healthcare and retirement benefits, along with other union protections, for the underpaid and overworked unionized staff at the studio.

Additionally, Disney/20th TVA continues to drag out current negotiations for production workers on our sister show, "Solar Opposites," by not meeting with the union regularly over the last year. The studio prefers to keep us siloed and negotiate with each show's crews separately. We are all 20th TVA!

TAG is the same union that represents the artists we work alongside each and every day and we are grateful for their support. Our unit includes receptionists, technicians, assistants, supervisors, coordinators and managers across various studio departments, including production, IT and executive offices.

Our work is a craft in its own right. Currently, our compensation does not provide a living wage, nor does it match the value of the work being performed to deliver these high-rated fan-supported television shows on schedule, on budget and to their exceptional standard.

By forming our union, we are taking control of our right to have viable and sustainable careers paths, living wages and the ability to retire with dignity.

We demand that Disney treat our needs as humans and workers with the urgency deserved, instead of addressing it at their convenience. It is time for the studio to recognize our contributions and support staff to ensure the creative, financial and cultural success of 20th TV Animation’s shows and special projects. It’s time we have the same union protections as our colleagues already in The Animation Guild.

Stand in solidarity with these workers and sign this petition. Tell Disney/20th TV Animation you support the rights of unionized staff on “The Simpsons,” “American Dad!” "Family Guy" and "Solar Opposites" and come to the bargaining table.

In Solidarity,

The Professional Unionized Workers behind "The Simpsons," "Family Guy," "American Dad!" and "Solar Opposites"

I support the Workers who make “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “American Dad!” and "Solar Opposites" happen and join in demanding Disney/20th TV Animation "FastPass" these negotiations!

One year is too long to wait for fair wages, working conditions and good benefits.

Do the right thing, Disney!
