A developer wants to build a Hampton Inn near the Pullman National Monument using $5 million in public subsidies from the Chicago Recovery Plan’s Community Development Grant program. The developer, Pullman Hotel Group, will benefit not only from millions in public funding but from the Pullman community and its rich history, including the legacy of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters and A. Philip Randolph.

BUT the Pullman Hotel Group has made NO commitment to create a path to good jobs for the community or to invest in high-quality job training for residents to succeed in those jobs.
