Tell Birmingham City Council to tackle air pollution

Birmingham City Council

Air pollution is a massive problem in Birmingham.

Too many of us are breathing in toxic filthy air created by vehicles on our roads and the consequences for our health are devastating.

Birmingham City Council is currently developing plans for a Clean Air Zone, where access to the most-polluting vehicles is restricted.

As part of our Breath of Fresh Air campaign, we’re calling on the Council to make the Clean Air Zone city-wide and improve air pollution monitoring. Birmingham needs a Clean Air Zone which makes it easier for people to walk, cycle and use public transport.

Let's show Birmingham City Council that it’s time to tackle air pollution!

1. Implement an enforceable Birmingham - wide clean air zone by 2020.
2. Ensure Nitrogen Dioxide levels meet or are below EU limits everywhere, all the time.
3. Make sure monitoring of all areas in Birmingham is regularly carried out and reported and this information is publicly available.
