Tell Border Patrol: Humanitarian aid is a right!

On Thursday June 15th, Border Patrol conducted a raid on the medical facility at the No More Deaths' humanitarian aid camp in Arivaca, AZ, which resulted in the arrest of four undocumented individuals receiving medical care. This is an outrage and an attack on the lives of migrants and refugees.
In Southern Arizona, the remains of someone who died trying to cross the border are found on average once every three days. Many more human remains are never found.
Humanitarian aid along the border is necessary due to governmental policies that push migration into remote terrain. No More Deaths, a humanitarian aid organization and ministry of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tucson, has provided food, water, and medical aid at our camp in Arivaca since 2004.
Thursday's raid was an escalation of an already violent border policy, and a targeted attack on a civilian, non-violent, humanitarian response to the crisis of death and suffering on the border. By raiding a site that exists to prevent deaths of migrants, Border Patrol is denying the right of undocumented people to receive life-saving resources and care. Not only is this immoral, it is a violation of the International Red Cross code of conduct for disaster relief.
We call on Border Patrol and other governmental agencies to end the policies and practices that cause death and suffering of migrants and refugees along the border.
We assert the right for migrants to receive life-saving humanitarian aid in the midst of the crisis of border deaths.

El Jueves 15 de junio, la Patrulla Fronteriza realizó un desalojo en la clínica del campamento humanitario de No Más Muertes en Arivaca, Arizona, lo cual resultó en el arresto de cuatro personas indocumentadas quienes estaban recibiendo atención médica. Esto es un ultraje y un asalto a las vidas de personas migrantes y refugiadas.
Cada tres días en promedio, en el sur de Arizona, son encontrados los restos de alguien que falleció al intentar cruzar la frontera. Muchos otros jamás se encontrarán.
La Ayuda Humanitaria en las tierras fronterizas es una reacción necesaria a las políticas gubernamentales que fuerzan la migración por los terrenos más remotos y arriesgados. No Más Muertes, una organización humanitaria y parte del ministerio de la Iglesia Unitaria Universalista de Tucson, ha brindando comida, agua, y atención médica en el campamento de Arivaca desde 2004.
El desalojo del campamento humanitario es una amplificación de las políticas fronterizas ya en sí violentas, y un ataque dirigido a la respuesta civil, humanitaria, y no violenta a la crisis de muertes en la frontera. Al desalojar un lugar creado para evitar la muerte de migrantes, la Patrulla Fronteriza niega el derecho de personas indocumentadas a recibir recursos y atención que pueden salvarles la vida. Esto no es sólo inmoral, sino además es una violación descarada del Código de Conducta de la Cruz Roja Internacional para el socorro en casos de desastre.
Exigimos que la Patrulla Fronteriza y los demás organismos gubernamentales suspendan las políticas y prácticas que ocasionan la muerte y sufrimiento de personas migrantes y refugiadas en tierras fronterizas
Reafirmamos el derecho de las personas migrantes y refugiadas a recibir apoyo humanitario vital, principalmente en medio de la crisis de muertes en la frontera
Exigimos que la Patrulla Fronteriza y los demás organismos gubernamentales dejen de estorbar todos los esfuerzos humanitarios

The right of undocumented migrants and refugees to receive life-saving medical care, water, and food should never be denied. Non-violent, civilian, humanitarian aid should never be obstructed by government agents — regardless of the citizenship status of those in need.
I support the mission of No More Deaths to end the death and suffering of migrants and refugees crossing the US-Mexico border.
The recent Border Patrol raid on No More Deaths' humanitarian aid camp is unacceptable. The lives and well-being of undocumented people, and their right to receive humanitarian care, should be protected.

El derecho de las personas migrantes y refugiadas a tener acceso a atención médica, agua y comida, jamás debe de ser negado. La ayuda humanitaria civil y no violenta jamás debe de ser obstaculizada por organismos gubernamentales, sin importar el estatus migratorio de quien lo necesita.
Yo apoyo la misión de No Más Muertes de detener la muerte y sufrimiento de personas migrantes y refugiadas cruzando la frontera entre México y los Estados Unidos, provocada por el Servicio de Aduanas y Protección de Fronteras (CBP) y la Patrulla Fronteriza.
El desalojo reciente del campamento humanitario de No Más Muertes es inaceptable. Las vidas y el bienestar de las personas indocumentadas, además de los esfuerzos de ayuda humanitaria en la frontera entre México y los Estados Unidos, deben de ser protegidos.
