We write to let you know about an outrageous situation at airports across the country.

We are passenger service employees at Envoy, a subsidiary of American Airlines, fighting for our first labor contract. We work in airports big and small, proud to serve the flying public. It has been more than two years since we voted to join together in our union to negotiate for better wages and working conditions, and we still do not have a contract.

Instead, Envoy has dug in its heels, insisting on poverty wages. Many of us earn less than $10 an hour and have to work more than three hours just to earn enough to fill our gas tank. We're fighting hard for a fair contract that would turn our jobs into family-supporting, community-building careers. The only thing standing in our way is executives at Envoy and its parent company American Airlines who are sitting on piles of cash instead of investing it in their employees.

The new tax law just gave Envoy and American Airlines a massive, permanent corporate tax break. Throughout the recent tax debate, members of both parties stressed the importance of raising wages. We work hard to make these companies successful, and we want to be able to support our families with the wages we earn at Envoy. It's time for the company to stop putting executive salaries and shareholder profits ahead of fair wages for workers like us.

Please help us fight for good jobs in the airline industry. Tell American Airlines and Envoy that it's time to pay fair wages and reach a fair contract with their employees as quickly as possible.
