Tell Manny Diaz, Jr.: Stop Putting Our Kids At Risk!
State Rep. Manny Diaz, Jr. (Florida House District 103)
State Rep. Manny Diaz, Jr. wants to send $200 million in tax dollars to for-profit companies out to make a buck off our kids.
Sign the petition & tell Manny that we must invest in our children's future – not line the pockets of his corporate cronies and campaign donors.
Throughout this legislative session, Manny Diaz, Jr. has pushed deeply flawed legislation that aims to dismantle local public schools in our neighborhood and undermine our kids' shot at success. This is unfortunately part of a long-running trend of the legislature giving for-profit companies even greater influence in the state's public education system.
Manny wants to:
- Reward shadowy charters operated by for-profit companies (with no oversight or accountability) at the expense of underfunded public schools;
- Hold for-profit run schools to lower standards by exempting them from nearly all statutes governing public schools – from building codes and teacher certificates, to tort liability and local zoning requirements.
Rep. Manny Diaz, Jr. is putting children even more at risk by placing people in front of our kids who don’t even have to have a high school degree let alone any kind of certification. We must protect our kids chance at a good-paying job and keep certified teachers in the classroom!
This "strategy" may help Manny pull in more campaign cash, but it fails to invest in educational opportunity for all Florida children – all but guaranteeing an instable economic future for our kids and the state as a whole.

How dare you push a dangerous plan that will send $200 million in tax dollars to for-profit companies out to make a buck off our kids! We must invest in our children's future – not line the pockets of your corporate cronies and campaign donors.
HB 5105 will dismantle local public schools in our neighborhood and hinder our kids' chance at success. You must stop rewarding corporations who have no stake in our kids' education and end this attack on underfunded public schools. Enough is enough.
Your "strategy" may help you pull in more campaign cash, but it fails to invest in educational opportunity for all Florida children – all but guaranteeing an instable economic future for our kids and the state as a whole.
