Tell Nike to Run Away from The Race to the Bottom

Mark Parker, CEO, Nike

Nike is spending big money to lobby Congress to support Fast Track legislation on "Free Trade" deals like the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP, which will destroy jobs here in America. That is money they could be using to actually raise their own workers wages, but instead they are running the race to the bottom.

Please take a moment to sign the petition below and let Nike know exactly what you think!

Now, Nike "promises" they will create 10,000 American jobs over the next decade if this legislation passes, but as pointed out by Lori Wallach, director of Public Citizen's Global Trade watch, “The American jobs Nike claims it aims to create are a drop in the bucket compared to the massive number of jobs that would be lost nationwide if the TPP is enacted because it gives companies incentives to offshore. It’s like saying let’s take ONE step forward, and 10,000 steps back.”

Nike has more than 1,000,000 contract factory workers, most in Asian countries. The only way that Nike and companies like them will end their efforts to pass so called "free" trade deals that encourage offshoring of more good American jobs is if people like you take a stand and tell them NO MORE!

Support of "Fast Track" legislation on the Trans-Pacific Partnership will lead to the offshoring of good American jobs. Please stop running the corporate race to the bottom. I ask you now to do "Just Do It;”", do the RIGHT thing for workers, athletes and customers. Not only will you save American jobs, but you will help rebuild an economy that works for all of us.
