Tell Pelosi and Schumer to support Bernie’s #MedicareForAll bill

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)

Senator Bernie Sanders is introducing his #MedicareForAll bill in the Senate alongside 15 co-sponsors -- includes nearly every leading 2020 presidential candidate in the Senate. And Representative John Conyers has a companion #MedicareForAll bill in the House.

But, the Democrats in the most important leadership positions in Congress have yet to commit to health care for all. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi recently said single-payer healthcare shouldn’t be a litmus test and she wasn’t willing to commit to supporting it in the future. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called for Democrats to be “bold” on health care, but has similarly withheld his support for the Medicare For All bill.

Add your name and tell Democratic Party leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to join Bernie, Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren in supporting Medicare For All.

Neither Sen. Schumer and Rep. Pelosi have an excuse for shying away from what’s right. Both represent solidly Democratic constituencies in New York and California. The Democratic Party has long stood for the principle of universal coverage for all. Now it’s time for Democratic Party leaders to endorse an approach that would cover all Americans.
