Tell Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to stop blaming young women for the abortion access crisis.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz
It's happening again.
One of our 'allies' is blaming young women for the crisis in access to abortion. This time it's Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), who also chairs the D.N.C. Here's what she just told The New York Times:
"Here's what I see: a complacency among the generation of young women whose entire lives have been lived after Roe v. Wade was decided."
It's not true. Young people are driving the abortion access, reproductive justice, and social justice movements forward.

I am writing to express my dismay at your recent comments suggesting complacency among young women born after Roe v. Wade. Nothing could be more untrue. Young people are leading the abortion access, reproductive justice, and social justice movements forward and I ask that you refrain from blaming them for the state and federal policy failures that have resulted in a humanitarian crisis in access to abortion.
