Tell Sullivan's Island to Adopt a Climate Action Plan
Sullivan's Island Town Council
The City of Charleston recently passed a Climate Action Plan that seeks to reduce locally produced greenhouse gases by 56% by 2030 by adopting a variety of common-sense and holistic action steps -- but they can't do this alone. Tell the Town of Sullivan's Island to take advantage of the year-long planning done by the City of Charleston and adopt a sister Climate Action Plan.

We have an opportunity here in the Lowcountry to come together and collaboratively address the climate crisis. We can make our buildings more efficient, our transportation more walk, bike, and bus-friendly, our natural resources healthier and better protected. We can require sustainable development and land use, and promote clean energy solutions. But we won't be able come together and do this as a County if each municipality doesn't play ball. And if nothing is done on the climate crisis, we face unlivable sea-level rise, flooding, heatwaves, and unpredictable, frequent, and powerful hurricanes bearing down on us.
We have localized, effective policy proposals on climate action waiting for us -- let's put them to work and make Sullivan's Island a climate-responsible town!
