Tell the American Jewish Establishment: Dump Trump + AIPAC!

Donald Trump has terrified Americans across the political spectrum with his unabashed racism, misogyny, xenophobia, and incitement of violence. While each day more people are standing up to condemn him, including Jewish leaders across the board, AIPAC has no problem welcoming Trump to speak at its conference.

Giving a platform to a bully like Trump is not a neutral act.

For years, AIPAC has asked American Jews to check their progressive values at its door. And for years, they have bullied dissenters; vilifying those in the community and in Congress who refuse to toe their line, who believe Jewish values demand we speak out against Israel’s immoral occupation. They even went so far as to warn student delegates that if they protest Trump, they will never be welcome at AIPAC again.

Is AIPAC — and the American Jewish establishment — so out of touch with Jewish values that they would condone a neo-fascist as long as he supports Israel? Does merely offering support for Israel make anti-Semitism, open racism and neo-fascism acceptable to our community?

Send a message to the leaders of the largest Jewish communal organizations today and tell them to dump the bullies in our community!

Donald Trump is a racist, bigoted man. As Jews, our voices need to be loud and unified against the hate spewed by Trump and his supporters against marginalized communities. Welcoming him to speak at AIPAC gives these disgusting ideas an enormous platform.

Just as Trump violently bullies his opponents, so too does AIPAC bully our community into believing that being Jewish means supporting endless occupation.

We call on you, as board members of AIPAC and leaders of our community, to reject Donald Trump and the hate and violence that he is spreading.

It’s time to stop dropping our values for the sake of pro-Israel politics. It is time to build a Jewish community based on the universal values of freedom and dignity for all people.
