Tell The Biden Administration to Stop Natural Gas Exports
The Biden Administration
Sign the petition urging the Biden administration to stop natural gas exports.
The Biden administration is facing its newest climate hurdle as it decides whether to grant 20 new liquified natural gas export facilities in the Gulf of Mexico.
According to Data for Progress, these facilities would result in an extra 3.2 billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually — which is close to the entire annual emissions of the EU.
"That we would even consider doing anything like this in 2023, which scientists have told us is the hottest year we have experienced on this planet for 125,000 years, is obscene and dangerous," said Bill McKibben, the climate activist and co-founder of 350.org.
"The world has never been hotter — why on earth are we even talking about finding a new way to spew even more greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere?" he added.
President Biden ran his campaign on fighting climate change — and his promise to be a climate champion. Add your name to our petition today to help hold him to that promise.
