Tell the Colcom Foundation to Stop Funding Anti-immigrant Politics | Digale a la Fundación Colcom que deje de financiar políticas antiinmigrantes
Colcom Foundation Board of Directors | Junta Directiva de la Fundación Colcom
The Colcom Foundation was established in 1996 by Cordelia Scaife May, an heiress to the Mellon-Scaife family fortune, in large part to fund the work of Dr. John Tanton. Tanton was an environmentalist and avowed eugenicist who advocated for a majority white population in the U.S. and a sealing off of the U.S.-Mexican border to protect against what he called a “Latin onslaught.” The New York Times estimates that since 2005, Colcom has provided $180 million to anti-immigration groups.
Colcom funds a powerful network of anti-immigrant political groups around the country, many with ties to extremist white nationalists and listed as hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Colcom gives millions of dollars annually to groups like FAIR, CIS, Numbers USA, Progressives for Immigration Reform, Pro-English, American Border Patrol, Keeping Identities Safe, and US Inc., the longtime publisher of the Social Contract Press and current publisher of Border Hawk.

We call on you, the Colcom Foundation, to stop funding the network of extremist anti-immigrant, white nationalist political groups you’ve long supported. We ask that you stay out of the immigration policy debate altogether, after more than two decades of funding extremist anti-immigrant organizations. Redirect 100% of your giving to artistic, civic, and environmental projects.
