Tell the Corps of Engineers: Greenfield's Grain Terminal Puts The Community at Risk From Dangerous Flooding
Army Corps of Engineers
Greenfield's grain terminal could cause major flooding issues for the west bank. The grain elevator construction would destroy over 6 acres of wetlands — wetlands that are needed to drain water away from our homes. 1.3 million cubic yards of excavation and fill will be altered or removed for construction of the terminal. Furthermore, the traffic, noise, and dust will make our community unlivable. OSHA has designated grain terminals as extremely hazardous putting Wallace at risk for dangerous explosions. Greenfield's facility will emit 450 pounds of pollution into the air every day into a community in cancer alley that is already overburdened with pollution. I am requesting a public hearing so that citizens can express their concerns.
