Tell "The National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service" to Value All Youth Public Service the Same as Military Service
National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service

Imagine a nation where all our youth have many pathways to growth and service besides the military, and help make it happen by adding your name to this petition!
Where we give all youth civilian service programs -- like the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Job Corps, and other Corps Network programs -- the same levels of support, funding, and benefits we provide for young people joining the military.
The National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service is seeking public comments on their “Request for Information on Improving the Military Selective Service Process and Increasing Participation in Military, National, and Public Service.”
They will use this information to ignite a national conversation around public service and to develop recommendations for Congress that will encourage every American to be inspired and eager to serve.
This is our chance to tell our government to treat all forms of youth public service the same as military service, with all the same financial incentives, career paths, and other benefits.
Please add your name to this petition to help young people build a more peaceful world.

Commissioners,
We are so grateful that your mission is much broader than military recruitment alone, and embraces all forms of national and public service to foster a greater attitude and ethos of service among American youth and to strengthen our democracy.
We ask that the Commission recommendations to Congress include putting support for all forms of public service by youth on an equal footing with military service -- with comparable financial incentives, career opportunities, and benefits.
This would include youth civilian service programs like the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Job Corps, and other Corps Network programs, along with exciting possibilities for renewal of other successful programs similar to those we find in our inspiring history, like the Works Progress Administration and Civilian Conservation Corps.
This will truly encourage every American to be inspired and eager to serve, and will help to strengthen our democracy in powerful ways we so deeply need today.
Thank you!
