We know that the lasting damage caused by COVID-19 to working families and individuals will only be prevented if our elected officials at all levels of government put our health and economic well-being at the center of their policymaking decisions.

We ask that you take every action possible to implement policies to contain the spread of COVID-19 and alleviate the health and financial burden on Pennsylvania’s working families. That’s why we are calling on you to take BOLD ACTION in this time of crisis to do what is right for our most vulnerable communities by implementing the American Working Family Relief Action plan, which would:

• EXPAND HEALTHCARE ACCESS to offer full-paid leave for ANY COVID-19 related issue, including sick time, furlough, self-quarantine, and providing care to infected family members;

• SECURE ECONOMIC RELIEF FOR WORKING FAMILIES by doubling unemployment benefits and eliminating the two-week waiting period for benefits;

• PROTECT FRONTLINE WORKERS with emergency funding and standards for healthcare workers, direct support professionals, and first responders; and

• MAINTAIN OUR VALUES and VOICE by mailing all voters a ballot with a postage- paid return envelope, and expanding resources to investigate attacks on AAPI communities.

We pull through by pulling together, like we have done in the past, and sacrificing in the midst of this immense challenge to our nation. Sacrifices must be shouldered by all of us. But without immediate action by the government and the private sector, the burden will fall on our most vulnerable and working families who are already struggling to survive.
