Please sign this petition calling on Rep. Tom Suozzi to reject all corporate PAC donations and Super PAC donations that are funded by corporations and return the ones he has received since becoming a member of Congress in 2017.
On January 15th, 2020, Rep. Tom Suozzi took to social media to happily announce his "A" rating from the fundraising PAC named, "End Citizens United Action Fund." The PAC raises money for many DCCC-backed democratic candidates, regardless if they reject corporate PAC money or not.
It's deeply troubling how a politician who’s taken over a million dollars from corporate and Super PACs in *just the last 2 election cycles* is graded an "A," when that grade and the premise of the organization is based on rejecting corporate PAC money.
If Rep. Tom Suozzi is truly committed to overturning Citizens United and genuinely believes in getting corporate and dark money out of politics, then he should lead by example. Anything less renders his endorsement and grade hypocritical and his promotion of it purposely misleading to voters.
It’s not just that Tom funds his campaign with corporate money, it’s that his policies and votes repeatedly benefit his corporate donors, who in turn, give him more money.
• At least $87k from military contractors that profit from his military funding votes.
• At least $66k from companies that profited off his vote to expand the detention centers.
• At least $126k from health care industries who profit as long as healthcare & medical supply companies can deny claims and services and keep costs high.
• At least $91k from Wall St that profited when he voted to repeal Dodd Frank, which rolled back banking regulations put in place to protect Americans.
•••I say “at least,” because Super PACs (comprised of many other PACs) do not typically disclose where their money comes from, so It is likely much, much more•••
Corporate influence is the #1 cause of legislated wealth inequality, our climate and healthcare crisis and our forever wars. This endorsement makes a mockery of the real work that groups like Move to Amend and Wolf-PAC actually do to end the corruption in Washington. It is dangerous and purposely designed to mislead voters into voting against their best interests and perpetuating the status quo.

On January 15th, 2020, you took to social media to promote the fact that you had received a grade of "A," from the End Citizens United Action Fund. Citizens United is a serious threat to our democracy, and their endorsement of you is purposely designed to mislead voters into believing that you are rejecting corporate PAC and corporate-funded Super PAC money.
This petition calls on you to lead by example and truly be on the side of ending Citizens United by publicly rejecting all corporate PAC and corporate-funded Super PAC donations, as well as returning those donations you have received as a member of Congress.
Voters deserve not to be purposely misled, both by your endorsement and the hypocrisy in your insinuation that you support an end to Citizens United while still happily being a beneficiary of that broken system.
