Tell Trump to lower the White House flag to half-staff for John McCain

Donald Trump

The White House lowered its flag to half-staff on Sunday in honor of US Senator John McCain (R-AZ), who died Saturday afternoon. Less than 24 hours later, the flag was back to full-staff. Trump, who hates McCain, had presumably weighed in and put an end to some errant staffer's small act of defiance to honor an American hero.

According to White House sources cited by the Washington Post, Trump also killed a planned White House statement praising McCain as a "hero."

Many on the right revered John McCain. While most on the left (and even some on the right) had serious issues with a man who, according to the old rules, was a far-right conservative. But we can all agree that McCain was a selfless man who had America's best interests at heart, and for that he deserves our respect -- especially now.

Please join us in demanding that Donald Trump lower the American flags at the White House, and across the federal government, to honor John McCain. Let's make Trump as uncomfortable as possible until he does the right thing.

For once in your life, think of someone other than yourself. Lower the White House flag, and the flags across the executive branch, to half-staff in honor of John McCain.
