Support Bringing a Full-Service Grocery Store to the Tenderloin

Mayor Breed, City Departments, and the Board of Supervisors

The Tenderloin neighborhood hasn't had a full-service grocery store in decades, despite community requests and numerous task forces identifying this as a priority for the neighborhood. I join Supervisor Preston and community leaders in calling for a full-service grocery store in the Tenderloin without further delay.

I am reaching out in support of Supervisor Preston’s resolution calling on City departments to work with the community to bring a full-service grocery store to the Tenderloin. Despite being identified by residents as a top community priority for decades, the Tenderloin continues to lack a full-service grocery store.

The resolution specifically calls on City departments, including the San Francisco Human Services Agency, Office of Economic and Workforce Development, and Planning Department to report to the Board of Supervisors within 60 days on previous efforts in the past five years to bring a full-service grocery store to the Tenderloin, potential sites for a grocery store in the Tenderloin, and any current efforts or plans for a grocery store to the Tenderloin.

We need your support and look forward to working with you as we continue our momentum to bring a full-service grocery store in the Tenderloin.
