THANK Senator Cory Booker for Supporting the Cancellation of Transporting LNG in Rail Cars on Our Nation’s Railways
Senator Cory Booker
Please THANK Senator Cory Booker for standing up for New Jersey and the nation by supporting the cancellation of transporting LNG in rail cars on our nation’s railways. New Jersey has more than 1000 miles of freight rail tracks over all parts of our state and cannot tolerate MORE hazardous materials to be carried through our communities. Senator Booker wrote to the US Department of Transportation supporting the proposed rulemaking to undo the Trump Administration’s allowance of LNG by Rail, calling for public safety first – to read the letter go here.
We need this protection from hazardous, flammable and explosive LNG trains being added to our already heavily burdened freight railway system that slices through our country’s most densely populated state.
Please sign the thank you note below and we will deliver it to Senator Booker. Deadline is noon June 26.

Re: LNG by Rail proposed rule 49 CFR Part 172 [Docket No. PHMSA–2021–0058 (HM–264A)], RIN 2137–AF55
Dear Senator Booker,
Thank you for sending your letter to Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg in support of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s (PHMSA) proposed suspension and permanent revocation of the Trump Administration’s allowance of the transport of liquefied natural gas (LNG) by Rail.
You expressed your concerns about the significant impacts the transportation of LNG by rail would have on public safety. You urged Secretary Buttigieg to prioritize public safety in his review of the matter and that “a final rule must protect the safety and health of people in New Jersey and around the country, first responders, emergency personnel, and workers”. I greatly appreciate you standing up for the people of New Jersey and the nation as you represent us in the United States Senate.
Appreciatively,
