Thank you to Assemblymember Matt Haney for working to stop unnecessary housing delays!

Assemblymember Matt Haney

Assemblymember Matt Haney has authored AB 1114 which will prevent unnecessary delays in housing construction. San Francisco is the only city in California that allows any individual to delay a housing project by appealing already issued building permits. This legislation will close this loop-hole and allow approved housing projects to be built without unnecessary and costly delays.

Dear Assemblymember Haney,

Thank you for authoring AB 1114. As you know, housing projects face a litany of unnecessary and costly delays in San Francisco. Specifically, the appeal of already issued building permits is a uniquely San Francisco issue that has jeopardized countless of projects, most recently 2550 Irving, the 100% affordable housing project in the Sunset.

Thank you for your bold leadership in closing this loop-hole to allow approved housing projects to be built without unneeded delay. Your work will make it faster and easier to build new homes in San Francisco!
