We stand in solidarity with Johanna Kapaan and Sarah Tubbs, Teachers at the Woodbury School who were unfairly terminated by The Strong without any explanation, transparency or due process. As patrons and community members, we are outraged and concerned that The Strong would take these actions.

We bring our children, the young, impressionable leaders of tomorrow here to learn and grow. We expect our leading institutions and employers to treat their workers with fairness, dignity, and respect and urge The Strong to uphold this standard.

Johanna Kapaan and Sarah Tubbs are respected teachers who have provided exceptional care to their students at The Strong’s Woodbury School. Dedicated educators with a combined 30 years of teaching experience, both Johanna and Sarah are widely respected by colleagues, students and parents alike for their commitment and unwavering support for their students.

As workers, parents, patrons, and other signatories on this petition, we call on The Strong to demonstrate a commitment to fairness, dignity and respect toward its workers, reverse the recent unfair disciplinary action taken against Johanna and Sarah, and meet with workers to discuss a fair disciplinary process.

Instead, please show our children and the rest of the community that you made a mistake, and fix this error in judgement immediately.
