This Land is Our Land

Senators Bennet and Gardner

The decisions we make, and causes we fight for, today will determine what struggles our children will face in the future. As a young Latino, I feel that Public lands need to be accessible to all of Colorado’s families. Being in the great outdoors reminds us that the world is so much larger than the city in which we live, and it reminds us of how much we truly have to lose.

Having access to National Parks and other public lands gives our families the chance to be together - to reconnect and to enjoy the beauty of the Colorado wilderness. In addition, protecting our national parks and other public lands is an important step in combating climate change.

Send a message to those in power, "we value the environment and if you are going to represent us, you should too."

In honor of Latino Conservation week, let’s urge our legislators to stand firm on protecting our National Parks and other public lands. Sign your name today and let Colorado’s Senators know: if they want our vote, they need to protect our public lands >>

Dear Senators Gardner and Bennett,

We, young Latinos living in Colorado, ask for your support in protecting our federal public lands for future generations. We know there has been chatter in D.C. lately focusing on taking public lands out of public hands and placing them into the grips of special interest groups, but closing off access to these lands is NOT what Coloradans want.

We ask that you stand against any attempt to decrease the amount of federal public lands, cut off our access to our public lands, or "transfer" our public lands to any other entity.

Our public lands should remain ours - open to the public for ALL to enjoy. Without the proper protections in place, the Colorado way of life and our great outdoors may disappear before our children have the opportunity to experience them. We ask that you work with your constituents, us, to continue protecting our public lands and National Parks, while keeping them accessible to Colorado's families - as well as all Americans and visitors.

We have a say in what kind of world our children will inherit. We have to lead by example, showing our children that preserving our lands is more than just a fad or a gimmick - it's our culture and heritage. A tradition that can be traced back to our ancestors, and it’s one that must continue well into the future.

Public lands should remain in control of the people - all of us - for all of our families to enjoy. Together, our voices can not be ignored - this land is our land.
