This tax day #JeffBetterHaveMyMoney

Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO

Amazon deprives our communities of needed resources by extracting subsidies and not paying it’s fair share of taxes. The state of Virginia has promised up to $750 million while Arlington County has promised up to $51 million in taxpayer subsidies and for Amazon HQ2 development. Meanwhile Virginians continue to lack basic resources like affordable housing and adequate healthcare. These funds should be allocated to our communities, not corporations.

The COVID pandemic has hit Black and brown, poor and working class communities in Virginia the hardest, suffering job losses, housing insecurity, health disparities and overall hardship. That’s why, this tax day, we’re calling on Amazon to pay it’s share of state and local taxes so that we can fund the services our Virginia communities need now more than ever. Sign on and join us!

As the richest man in the world, you have made over $86 billion alone. Meanwhile, your company deprives our communities of needed resources by extracting subsidies and not paying its fair share of taxes.
